Scope of Copyright
Copyright protects original expression fixed in a tangible medium. It does not protect ideas, facts, systems, procedures, methods of operation, or other uncopyrightable subject matter. To the extent they are copyrightable, original text, scholarship, teaching resources, photographs, graphics, code, and original selections or arrangements authored by Matthew Kisow are protected from creation unless an explicit notice or license states otherwise.
A domain’s inclusion below identifies its place in the DoctorKisow publishing, teaching, or service environment; it is not a claim of ownership over every work, fact, standard, software component, student contribution, or third-party item available through that domain.
Third-Party Works and Licenses
- Third-party publications, standards, images, software, trademarks, and other materials remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable licenses.
- A page-specific notice or an included repository license controls when it is more specific than this general policy.
- Public-domain material remains in the public domain. Copyright may apply only to new, original annotations, commentary, or selection and arrangement added to it.
- Linking, citation, or attribution does not transfer ownership and does not by itself authorize a use that otherwise requires permission.
Federally Registered Service Mark
DRK® Trademark
The DRK® design mark is registered to Matthew Kisow on the United States Patent and Trademark Office Principal Register as U.S. Registration No. 8,251,048 for Class 41 educational services concerning computers and cybersecurity. Use of the mark must not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation. Nothing in this notice restricts referential or other use permitted by law. Review the current record in the USPTO Trademark Status and Document Retrieval system.
Linking, Citation, and Reuse
You may link to public pages and cite works using the citation information supplied with the work. Materials carrying an express license may be used within that license’s terms. Other quotation, reproduction, criticism, commentary, teaching, scholarship, or research may qualify as fair use under United States law, but fair use depends on the circumstances and the statutory factors; there is no fixed word count, percentage, or classroom exception that guarantees a use is fair.
This page does not grant a blanket license. When a proposed use is not clearly permitted by an applicable license or by law, request written permission before reproducing, republishing, redistributing, selling, translating, adapting, or incorporating protected material into another publication, course, product, or service. Article-specific notices control when they differ from this general policy.
Connected Site Register
This register identifies the public sites, teaching environments, service endpoints, and compatibility addresses maintained within the DoctorKisow environment. The rights treatment follows the work itself, not merely the hostname from which it is delivered.

Permissions, Corrections, and Takedown Requests
Use the central Contact page for permission requests, corrections, or scholarly correspondence across these sites. Identify the exact work and URL, the proposed use, the portion requested, the audience, and the publication format.
Requests concerning a hosted PDF in the Document Library should use the library’s monitored takedown request form. That review channel does not concede infringement, determine ownership, waive any party’s rights or remedies, or represent a formal legal conclusion.
Suggested Attribution
Use a work’s supplied citation when available. Otherwise, identify the author, date, title, site, and exact page URL. For example:
Example Citation
Kisow, M. (Year, Month Day). Title of work. DoctorKisow.org. https://www.doctorkisow.org/exact-page/
A citation supports scholarly traceability; it does not replace permission when permission is required.
